Human Services Program

The Academy Ph.D. Program in Human services seeks students who are mature professionals and who with to advance their careers by diligently pursuing advanced knowledge and skills. The individually tailored program is built on the competencies which students bring to their studies. The professional interests of students are accommodated at a pace set by students within the norms of their professional discipline and academic soundness.

Full use is made of electronic technology and a tutorial relationship with the Faculty Mentor who is drawn from a truly outstanding group of professors. Students enrolled in the Human Services Program are practicing professionals working in mental health settings, social service environments, community development agencies, residential care facilities, and private practice. Some are faculty, consultants, and human resources specialists. Many are licensed counselors, social workers, or hold specialty licenses in chemical dependency, etc. The Academy commitment to improving society and its institutions (families, communities, schools, and the workplace) is especially attractive to students entering the Human services Program. Graduates strive to make a difference in improving social conditions within their sphers of influence.

In all cases, students will be prepared to confront the challenges of social and institutional change in the 21 century. Students wishing to prepare themselves for licensure or certification in the fields may design their educational program to help them meet the requirements in their state, or Country It is up to the student to ascertain these requirements.
